King Manuel's Bedchamber

I was in my bedchamber getting ready for the day ahead when I was informed by my servant that my wife Maria had come to see me. I nodded to the servant to allow her in.

Queen Maria smiled at her beloved husband. At least she of all the sisters was happy and she believed that juana was happy with her Philip as well. "Your Majesty"
she said in a deep curtsey at the door.

"i am well. How are you, Manuel?"

"Do not forget, I am Spanish, dear husband." Queen Maria stated.

"No, I have not heard anything. Isabel of Castile is giving you trouble. I do not believe my mother would give you trouble unless it is my father, Ferdinand of Aragon."
Maria breathed.

"I am sure wily old Ferdinand of Aragoin could come up with a lot of reasons."

"Because he is an old goat who llkes to stir up trouble."

"Manuel, I should like to ask a favour of you." Queen Maira stated.

I look towards Maria.

"Of course Maria, what is it?

I should wish to travel to Flanders fo see my sister in law, Margaret of Austia and oerha[s even my sister. Juana." Queen Maria of Aragon said.

"Thank you. You are always good to me. I will make ready to leave at once but first I msut write to her."

"Thank you, Manuel." Queen Maria said.

"Of coarse, Manuel." Queen Maria hath said. After she arrived in Flanders, she penned a letter to Manuel

Dear Manel:

I hath arrived at the Court of Margaret of Austria. She is most kind to me and I geatly enjoy being here. Thank you for your concern.

I am pleased to have received your letter and that you arrived safely. I do hope that you enjoy your stay in Austria.

Thank you for your concern. I am being treated very well here and am pleased that you allowed me to come for Margaret and I have much to discuss. She is a good lady and I remember her from her time as my deceased brother Juan's wife. How I miss Juan to this day and it was sad that you lost your baby, Prince Manuel with my sister, Queen Isabella of Aragon and that she passed away. I am pleased that you considered me your next bride. Youi are a good man, Manuel and I count my blessing every day that I am your wife.

Dear Maria:

It pleases me to hear that you are being treated well. It was sad for me too when you told me about the loss of your brother. My son Manuel, he was so precious to me and to lose him the way I did was very upsetting. I do hope that we will have many children together, Maria.
