Seymour Family Gathering

It was the time of the year where we Seymours all gathered together at Wolfhall.

I was already here with Margery and I was very eager to find out how Jane had been getting on in the service of the Queen of England. Edward, to learn of his new position at court. It would be a grand occasion.

The Lady Margery smiled at her husband, John Seymour and said, 'It is so good to know that our Jane is serving Queen Anne well. The King himself wrote to me to tell me that Jane is doing well in the service of Queen Anne and that Edward is serving him well as well.'

'Both Jane and Edward and Thomas should be arriving soon.' the Lady Margety commented.

Jane Seymour was riding with Edward. 'What miserable weather we are having, brother.' She was anxious to get back to Wolf Hall. She loved the old place and to be with her mother and father, the Lady Margery and Sir John.

I looked at Margery.

"That is wonderful to hear that they will be here soon, this weather outside is terrible. Are you preparing one of your grand feasts, Margarey?

I was riding for Wolfhall with Jane and she was certainly right in what she said.

"I agree with you Jane, this weather is terrible, I just hope that it is nice and warm back home. This is your first time back, since you became England's Queen is it not?

The Lady Margery said, 'Yes, I am preparing a feast. I look forward to the arrival of Queen Jane and Edward.'

Jane Seymour said, 'Yes, it will be nice and warm at home. Yes, it is good to be going home even though I love being with the King.'

I looked at Jane.

"There is no doubt that mother is likely to have prepared a grand feast for the occasion like she normally does. It is still difficult to get my head around you being Queen of England, Jane. I say as we arrived in the Courtyard of Wolfhall and I help Jane down from her horse.

I smile at Margery.

"The food will be delicious as always Margery. I am looking forward to them arriving and it is still strange to think that we are actually hosting the Queen of England. I do believe they have just arrived. I say to Margery as horses arrived in the courtyard.

The Lady Margery awaited her children where she was. She knew that they would come to her and Sir John.

'I know, Edward. I still can not believe that I am Qiueen of all England.' Jane headed to the room her parents would be in and hugged both Lady Margery and Sie John. 'Mother, Father, it is so, so good to see you. I smell the delicous dinner we are going to have.'

I stood beside Margery as our daughter Jane and our son Edward both entered the room. Jane approached us and hugged us both.

"Dear Jane, it is so good to see you again. Apologies, I should be calling your Your Majesty. Tell us, how is life with King Henry.

'Yes, do tell us, dear Jane,' said Margery as she curtsied unto her daughter. That seemed so, so unusal. That she should curtsey to her own daughter but that daughter was Queen of all England.

'Life is exciting with His Majesty. There is always something happening. This week I choose my ladies. Dorothy is going to be one of my ladies in waiting. It is exciting choosing all the different ladies in waiting.' Jane Seymour remarked, regally.

'It sounds like you love the King, Jane.'

I looked at Margery then at Jane.

"It is true, it does seem like you really like him. How do you find everything at court? Are the nobles kind to you? I know what they can be like. I would imagine that King Henry has changed the Queens chambers for you? That necklace Jane, is it new?

'I am glad you like my necklace. Yes, it is new. His Majesty gave it to me. He looks after me so so well. I am getting on with the other nobles. King Henry demands of them that they respect me.' Queen Jane said.

Lady Margery was happy that her daughter was being well treated by the King. She wondered what must feel like to be loved by a King. She was so, so proud of her Jane and they all thought she not amount to much. Jane has made the Seymour fortune and now all she has to do is give the King a son and that will not be a problem because the Lady Margery herself gave birth to three sons and three girls.

Jane looked towards both parents, Sir John and Lady Margery and was glad to be able to call them her parents. She loved them dearly. 'Father, are you well?' Jane remarked.
