I was in my bedroom at the palace and my leg was in agony following the ulcer pain. I had called for my wife Catherine to attend and she was the only one I allowed in at this time. She said she knew how to treat my leg and I did hope that she was not lying to me. I waited for her to come.

Queen Catherine had gone out to prepare a herbal mixture for the King's leg and she now had it ready. She knocked upon the door of the King's bedroom. She hath decked herself out in her finest for she knew that Henry wanted her to look the part of a Queen. She had even put on a diamond necklace which the King hath given her and ear bobs as well. On her hands she just wore her wedding ring.
