They seem to like to force decisions upon me of that which I am not prepared to make. Then there is Mary, our sister, whom I feel does not like the religion of England. She does not want Kat Ashley to be in your service either.

Yes indeed you are right. Our Sister is a staunch Catholic just like her mother. I fear she will never change her ways. What do they have against my dear Kat Ashley?

I was meaning to ask you, did you manage to get round to reading the copy of my book of common prayer that I sent you? Mary refuses to read it and still she practices her Catholic ways against my order. Can you believe that she thinks that Kat Ashley is misguiding you?[/color]

I found the books most enlightening. I do thank you for sending me this. May I keep this or am I to return this to you. Kat Ashley has been practically a mother to me my entire life. I hope never to be separated from her. If you come across any more material for me to read please send them to me.

Mary was suggesting to me that Kat Ashley should be removed from your service, but given how close you are to her, I do not see that I need to remove her. "Am I to leave for Court at once. I do hope so for it has been ever so long since I have you seen you. It is a shame that they keep us apart for months at a time. I have given your councilors no reason not to trust me. I follow your religion with all my heart and soul."

Dear Elizabeth,

It is indeed an invitation for you to come as soon as you are able to do so. It is too long since we have been able to be together at Court. I know you follow my religion completely, it is just my uncles who seem to always go against it. I need your support now as they keep putting pressure on me.
