Marie's Bedchamber

"Thank you, Master Lock. You look after me so well." Marie said, graciously.

"Now, I would like to go back to bed. And you, too, should go to bed for tomorrow will be a busy day." Marie said unto Master Robin Lock.

So the night passed and Marie slept well. She was expecting Master Lock to tell her what was going on with Charles de Bourbon. How she hated that man. How dare he threaten her borders!! The gall of the man. Just because she is young and inexperienced. She and Master Lock will show him.

The night had been pleasant and I came to Marie's chambers the following morning.
"Good Morning Your Highness I trust that you slept well?

Marie had a good sleep, even though her mother just died and Charles de Bourbon was threathning her border. "Yes, Master Lock. I have slept well considering our situation. So what is happening on the Front?"

Marie laughed out loud. "Nay, I do not wish to wed with the likes of him. Just to think of it gives me the chills and it is very creepy too." To think that he would be so, so bold. The last thing she wants is to wed now and certainly not him.

"Tell him whatever you want but I am not wedding with that man. I leave it up to you to decide how to respond, Master Lock." Marie said, graciously.

"And I shall need all the help I can get. Thank you, Master Lock."

"Now, you may go and see that my wishes are fulfilled."

"Thank you.' Marie said, politely.

Marie went back under the covers after Master Lock left. She was still mourning her mother's death and she was still sleepy. State business is too much. She knows now how her mother felt when dealing with state business. Luxembourg was important. It was her country and she loved it and wanted to rule it well.

I could honestly not blame Marie for not coming out yet as state business was tough and especially for a newly appointed Queen too. The right time would come for Marie.

The night had passed and Marie was up bright and early the next day, awaiting the arrival of Master Lock with a report of what was happening. She had gotten dressed. And her maid had brought her a warm cup of coffee.

I had come to see Marie.

"Good day Your Highness, I trust that you slept well? I have some exciting news for you. Phillip I of Castile and his wife Joanna have sent word they are travelling and would very much like to visit you.
