Norfolk to Mary Boleyn

Thomas Howard, third Duke of Nofolk felt like talking with his niece, Mary Boleyn. They were at Whitehall which was one of King Henry's favourite palaces. He saw Mary Boleyn out in the gardens and he approahec her.

"I am well. How are you, Mary." Norfolk said, taking a seat.

"I understand from George that you want to go to the Ukraine. Why is that?" Thomas Howard said, gracefully.

"It is so, so far away and you will be leaving your family and friends. I suppose it will make you Grand Duchess of the Ukraine once this young man succeeds. If the King gives his blessing and permission, I suppose it will be all right. If you want this so very much." Thomas Howard said

I hug and kiss his cheek. . Uncle Alexei Olegovna is a prince of Ukraine. I could be a princess of Ukraine. He is a very kind man. He knows me and yet he wants to get to know me. He does not hide away from me. I do not seem to want to harm me or break my heart as others have. He is not asking me as a mistress. He looks at me as a person he would like to get to know me better. Please Uncle be happy for me, I want to have someone love me the way you love Anne of York. So please be happy and hope that I will find in him to truly be an honest and loving man.

"Yes, Anne of York was my soul mate. I loved her greatly and she me. But she had to die and now I am stuck with Elizabeth Stafford. At least Elizabeth has given me two boys and a girl, well two girls but young Catherine died in 1530. I hope it all goes well for you in the Ukraine." Although Norfolk would never choose to go there even for the love of his life. England is the place for him. England is home and Framlingham ane Kenninghall.

"No, do not mind me. Go and see what happens in the Ukraine. It may turn out for the best, it may widen our influence in the world."

Thank you Uncle for your understanding. I will be fine and George will accompany me there. I am sure that Anne will want him to watch me at all times. So that I will not bring anymore shame to the family. I give Uncle a hug and kiss his cheek.

Norfolk kissed Mary back. He was not a demostrative man but it was nice to be so from time to time and Mary was sweet.
