Bedchamber of Mary Kilpatrick

I had received a letter from my advisors that had been written by my mother Mary and I was disgusted to see that she had been plotting with my brother Hugh to overthrow me and in doing so had committed treason.

I gathered the guards and at once, I went to her chambers and the doors were burst open for me to enter and I saw my mother sitting at her desk. I went over to the desk with the letter and slammed it down on the table before her.

"care to answer this letter you have written mother? You plan to overthrow me and replace me with Hugh? I say and signal for the guards to wait for my signal.

I looked at her because how did intercept the letter. But how do I answer her. I know that she wishes to imprison me and I do not know what she will do to Hugh. . What do you mean by that. I do not know about any letter

I looked at my mother as she pleaded her innocence.

"Do not play games with me, you know what letter I speak of. Let me refresh your memory. I say showing her the letter in her own handwriting.

I looked at mother.

"Do you know where Hugh is now? I will have to speak to him as well. For the time being mother, you are to remain here in your chambers and not leave at all. A guard will be outside at all times. I still find it hard that you do not love me, like you love Hugh mother.

. Really Elizabeth I really do not know where he is. I want you to let me go. I am your mother now let me out. Why do you think that I do not love you. Of course I love you. You are my daughter and I love you dearly. I love Hugh dearly. Both of you are my children. I love you equally. .

I looked at mother and could see that she did not seem to understand what she had done.

"Mother, you do not seem to understand what you have done. This letter that you wrote to Hugh, shows that you wished that he was King of Ireland and on the throne instead of me. That is an act of treason, mother. You are lucky that you are my mother and that I am not executing you. You cannot deny that you wrote this letter as it has your handwriting and signature, plus I have had reports that you have spoken with Hugh about it too. Do you deny this? I say to her as I handed her the letter. I then nod to the guard to come forward and he had rope in his hand.

"Now mother, you said that you wanted to be let go, so we will leave here and you are to be escorted to the dungeons in the capital. Now, do not disobey me and put your hands behind your back. Your hands are to be tied as you are a prisoner for what you have done.

I looked at my daughter.  . Of course I definitely deny this accusation.  The fact that you believe that I am capable of doing this to you.  Yes I speak to your brother and why should I not.  He is my son as you are my daughter after all.  I think about your ruling styles and this is treason.  To ask what we could do as sovereign.  But you would rather put me in the dungeons on this flimsy letter or gossiping servants as proof .  I am surprised that you would have this done to me.  You do not have to have me tied up like a common criminal I will walk my own.
